People hate people who care about horses. They don't want to change what's always been. They hate the people who love horses because horse lovers hate torture devices. Like bits, spurs, or tie downs. It bothers the people who love riding who want to defend their torture tools and techniques. The people who love riding want to put all these awful contraptions on horses. Bits, flash nosebands, tie downs... Then the rider carries a whip and a pair of spurs. The rider doesn't WANT the horse's opinion. They want to shut the horse up, so they can make their OWN claims about what the horse thinks. They claim the horse loves it, and is not in any pain.
